To look up is to imagine someone listening, even when no answer comes…
From Above and Below is a gallery exhibition composed of three works: a sculpture, an corner-mounted picture frame, and a site-responsive installation, each derived from a triptych of photographs taken from an airplane. Seen from above, the land becomes abstracted, suspended between geography and imagination. The work explores the long-held belief of the sky as a spiritual realm: a place of gods, guardians, ancestors, and hope. In contrast, the ground represents lived experience, intention, and human presence. Together, the three pieces form a visual speculation on communication between these realms, imagining what it might mean for messages, energy, and meaning to travel upward, and for something unseen to respond.
