Color Theory of a City is a short mixed-media documentary tracing one man's journey through homelessness, recovery, and his present work helping others navigate similar struggles. Told through dreamlike observations of the city, the film blends metaphorical imagery, fragmented soundscapes, and painting to explore his perception of the world. As painting played a pivotal role in his recovery, the filmmaking process becomes a collaboration between subject and filmmaker. Through layers of paint on glass, our individual interpretations merge into a shared canvas, exploring how memory, experience, and human connection shape the colors through which we see the world.
